Today is the 3rd day of my vacation.... and for the most part I have been a bum! I slept in and then helped mom wrap some x-mas presents.. and then wrapped the birthday presents I got for my niece Emily since her birthday is on Thursday and we need to mail them tomorrow. As for the rest of the day I basically layed around watching Lifetime movies.. hahaa I'm pathetic.. and then I cooked dinner and baked some cookies... Now I'm off to work for a meeting.. YUCK!
So my vacation from work and school started as of yesterdaY! and it is great! Last night I went x-mas shopping with my mom and cousin.... i bought a TON of stuff! haha it was a good thing though cuz i got a bunch of people out of the way at once...still have to buy for mom and dad and two of my neices and my grandmother, two cousins and my uncle because i drew his name for our x-mas thing... BUT i'm over halfway done x-mas shopping so that is always a plus! Tonight the whole family, aunts, uncles and cousins included are going out to dinner at Outback... that should be interesting! lol Anywhoo off to finish getting ready! thats all for now.
so I found out today that I was approved for the vacation time that I requested and let me tell you I am very excited about it! not because I am going to be going anywhere or doing anything exciting....but because it is going to be my FIRST ever PAID VACATION!! hehehe I will be off Nov 16th-22nd. WOOHOO!!!!
Also on a side note I am having a Pure Romance party that I am pretty excited about! haha I had one a few months ago and it turned out to be a blast so we will see how this one goes!

So i have been back from Mississippi for about a week now and let me just say it was a fantastic weekend! getting to see the part of my family i haven't seen in well over a year was great. we got there friday evening and then saturday was the big baby shower. it was an all day event haha we left at 1030 in the morning to go set up.. we held the shower at this beautiful old plantation on Pickwick Dam in Tennessee. My cousin runs the restuarant next door which is owned by the same man who owns the plantation house. My cousin and her daughter used to live on the top floor.
visiting with the family was a great time. it was good to see them all again and definitely a fantastic opportunity to get to see Charlee KAte! Can't wait till next summer to go again because then we will get to see the newest baby girl in the family, Channing.

So it is now the 7th week of classes and after tomorrow I will have had a test in each of my classes... However a couple of the tests and surprised me... the one i thought would be easiest turned out to be the hardest and the one i thought would be the hardest turned out to be the easiest... I think I am pretty well prepared for the one tomorrow... it is in my Criminology class.... and it I think is the most interesting of my classes....so we will see how tomorrow goes!
Work is going pretty good..... as of yesterday ( i went and talked to my zone manager and the store manager) i am now officially not moving back to home decor... i am gonna be staying up on the front and working customer service.. which is pretty much awesome cuz thats my favorite spot to work on the front! 90 percent of the time I'm doing at least 3 things at once and i enjoy that because 1) makes the time go by faster and 2) i hate just standing there doing nothing! i have been thinking bout it over the last couple months and i just decided that i think customer service is a better fit for me than home decor. so we will see how it goes! haha
i MAY be going to Mississippi in a couple weeks for my cousin Dana's baby shower and to visit with my dads family.. i havent seen them in over a year so I'm really hoping i get the time off work.. it would just be a friday thru sunday thing but at this point its better than nothing... it would be nice to get to see them and as an added bonus it would be three glorious days away from lowes!!! :) PLUS my other cousin just had a baby last Nov. whom I havent gotten to meet yet...

my friend Toni and I got done dancing and were walking back to the table to sit with Zac. When we got to the table I noticed this girl i work with M and this girl K sitting there talking to him.
ME: hey...
K: Um, hi, I'm a lesbian.... is it ok that I'm sitting here talking to him???
**Appearantly i looked scary or pissed of something but that was just bout the funniest damn thing i've heard in awhile.
So the third week of school is almost over.. And I am already stressing a bit. lol Its ok though. My teachers this semester appearantly are like very kind and super on the ball... They have all handed out study guides for our first exams.... None of which are until the beginning of October... now the task is just to utilize them and properly study haha I have my first paper due next Weds. Not sure on the topic yet. I have to pick a minority group and discuss their social status and/or the way they are viewed by society... that should be interesting lol All of my classes this semester are Sociology courses.... BUT thankfully after this semester my MINOR will be complete!!! I am taking Criminology, Race and Ethnic Relations, Women Gender and Society, and Medical Sociology.....
My WG&S teacher is absolutely freakin nutS! lol There is something seriously off about that woman..... not sure what it is yet though....
Anywho all is going well thus far with school......
Still havent transferred to home decor at work yet..... as soon as we get a couple new cashiers to actually stick around longer than a week i will be moving... Or so i'm told.. haha anywho thats all for now.......
